5th grade year....last play for Taylor at Corridor

Taylor's 5th grade year and his final play for school at the Hult Center! Taylor had a primary lead role and was quite excited. Here are a few shots of the marquis sign outside the Hult Center which scrolls the events for the week and they always put Corridor's play on there since they perform at the Hult Center! Also a few shots of getting his stage makeup applied and after the makeup is on......however it is minus his costume which was bright and colorful since he was playing a character named, Tom Macaw.......so he had to be colorful like a macaw bird. He wore red pants, yellow shirt, blue coat and a tie with a Macaw bird on it! He looked awesome!

Grandma's 80th Birthday!

Around Christmas time we headed up to my Aunt & Uncle's house in Portland to gather together to celebrate my Grandma Bonnie's 80th Birthday! It was fun to surprise her as we did 10 years ago for her 70th! It was tons of fun to see everyone for the day and get to just hang out!

Trip to the Northern Oregon Coast

We decided to take a trip in September 2008 as a family (my parents, Roger, Taylor and I and my brother and his fiance Sarah along with friends Randy & Darla) and stay at the Beach House in Gearhart. We had a fabulous weekend, visited Astoria and Seaside, flew kites on the beach and just had a lot of fun. What great memories!!!!!

Not to far from the beach house where there was a deadly plane crash......somber moments.

5th Grade Oceanography Trip

At the beginning of every school year the 5th graders go on their Oceanography Trip to wrap up their Oceanography Unit, and Jennifer got to go along on the trip. It is a very busy 2 days full of stops and learning and fun. Among the many stops, they go to the dunes for their traditional picture of all the 5th graders (see below). Stops at Strawberry Hill to view the Sea Lions, South Beach to do Sand Sculpting, Tour the Coast Guard at Yaquina Bay, then back to the beach for some play time, then to Izzy's Pizza for dinner. Then we spent the night in the gym at Newport Middle School.....The next day we were supposed to go look at tide pools, but a storm came in and we could not get to them, so we went to a little museum. Then we went crabbing off a dock beneath the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Then off to the Newport Aquarium for classes and learning different things by walking around and reading all the plaques. It was a bunch of fun, but very tiring. And oh....what memories!!!!!

"Socks" in a bag

Whenever there is an open box or bag that falls to the floor......Socks just has to get into it. This bag had fallen over and immediately Socks was in it. But he also had his toy football and just laid there for hours as content as can be.......I still can't figure him out sometimes!

Anniversary

Every year for our anniversary, Roger & I try to steal away to the coast for a couple of days! We truly treasure these times as we don't get much time anywhere else or any other times to truly be by ourselves. This has become a favorite place of ours as we love to open the sliding door at night and fall asleep listening to the ocean. We always cannot wait to go back the next year!

The old 242

On the way home from family camp we decided to drive into Sisters, OR and come home via the old Highway which is Hwy 242, which is a windy road with lots of switchbacks and beautiful scenery. Here are a couple of photos from our stop at the top of the pass, The Dee Wright Observatory, where you can see about 8 mountains if not more on a clear day.
